Our Story
Where Matcha Meets Meaning
Matcharl began with a simple yet profound question:
“Matcha aru?” which means
“Do you have matcha?” in Japanese.
Born and raised in Japan, I had the opportunity to live abroad, where I gained a deeper appreciation for Japanese culture.
I realized that while matcha is beloved worldwide, many people—even in Japan—are unfamiliar with its rich history and traditions. With this in mind, I founded Matcharl to share authentic, high-quality matcha and create a space where people can explore and celebrate Japanese culture together.
That realization inspired me to start Matcharl — a brand rooted in authenticity, quality, and cultural connection.
